Early career in show business; Westerns, 1930-49: differences between making series and features, stunts, special effects, horses, portrayal of Indians, authenticity; opinions on various directors, including Frank Capra and John Ford; reminiscences of Roy Rogers, Gary Cooper, John Wayne, William Boyd (Hopalong Cassidy) and others. Audio is comprised of narrator's excerpts from the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company's radio program series "Memoirs of the Movies"
