Child actor; "Dead End" and "My Heart's in the Highlands" 1930s; family background, Yiddish theatre; film director: "Twelve Angry Men," 1957, "Stage Struck," 1958; differences between motion pictures and theater; effects of rising costs of production and distribution; Hollywood star system and casting of movies. Audio is comprised of narrator's excerpts from the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company's radio program series "Memoirs of the Movies"
