Scope and Contents

Early life in California; acting school on GI Bill, 1945; Neighborhood Playhouse; Actors' Studio; beginning of television career, 1948; movie career: ideas on acting in movies and theater; role in "Have Gun Will Travel" television series; reminiscences of John Gielgud, Lee Strasburg, Elia Kazan. Audio is comprised of narrator's excerpts from the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company's radio program series "Memoirs of the Movies"
