Child actress in summer stock productions; stage actress in New York and California; film debut in "Little Caesar," 1930; Torchy Blaine series; "The Middle of the Night," 1959; discussion of the differences between comedy and drama, glamorous image of movie stars, social and cultural life in Hollywood, impact of television; impressions of Joan Blondell, Mervyn LeRoy and Paddy Chayevsky. Audio is comprised of narrator's excerpts from the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company's radio program series "Memoirs of the Movies"
