Early training with Theatre Guild and Provincetown Playhouse; acting career on Broadway, development of modern theater; Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s; television and its effect on Hollywood; impresssions of John Drew, Mrs. Fiske, Eugene O'Neill, Robert Edmond Jones.
