Director in London, 1919; directing opera in Rochester, New York; interviews with George Eastman; Theatre Guild in New York, N.Y.; films: APPLAUSE, QUEEN CHRISTINA, BECKY SHARP; stage productions of PORGY AND BESS and CAROUSEL; move from major studios to more individualized production units; impressions of Eugene O'Neill, Greta Garbo. Audio is comprised of narrator's excerpts from the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company's radio program series "Memoirs of the Movies"
