Scope and Contents

"The Birth of a Boffo" is an episode of the "Memoirs of the Movies" series, produced by Group W of the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company in collaboration with Columbia University's Oral History Research Office. The theme of this episode is comedy during the silent films era. The episode is hosted by Joe E. Brown and features the recollections of Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, Charlie Ruggles, Moe Howard of the Three Stooges, Eddie Sutherland, and George Seaton
