Biographical Note

Hu Zongduo was born in Hubei. His military career began when he was 20 and participated in the revolutionary uprisings in 1911. After he finished his military education, he joined the Yunnan Army in Guangdong, then the Guangxi Army, and rose to high command position in the Guangdong region. He was also an important commander during the Northern Expedition

Scope and Contents

In this interview, Hu gives accounts of battles and politics in unifying Guangdong from 1924 to 1925, as well as the political struggle in the KMT from 1926 to 1929. The interview is accompanied by 29 pages of English abstract and translation
