Biographical Note

Nie Qide (聶其德) was born in Hunan. her father Nie Qigui (聶緝槼) was the Deputy Director of the Shanghai Machinery Factory and later the Governor of Zhejiang, and retired in 1904

Scope and Contents

In this interview, Nie discusses her father's career and the life of her husband, Zhang Qihuang (張其煌), who was an official in Hunan and the Secretary General of Wu Peifu in the 1920s. She also discusses the family relations between important Hunanese officials
