Biographical Note

Wan Yaohuang was born in Hubei. From 1922 to 1937, Wan was in the Hubei force with Xia Douyin. Wan and Xia sided with the KMT in 1927. From 1934 to 1935, Wan pursued the Red Army from Jiangxi to Shaanxi. Wan held high position in military training from 1938 to 1950

Scope and Contents

In the interview, Wan discusses events during the revolutions in 1911, his life at the Baoding Military Academy and the Army Staff College. Transcript also include passages from his diary from August 1926 to July 1939
