Education; service with Continental Can from hourly laborer (1934) to president (1963): draftman, designing equipment, establishing standards for cans and dies, coordinator war products manufacture during World War II, changes at Los Angeles Plant 11, Advanced Management Program at Harvard, decentralization, acquisitions, anti-trust suit, Clearing Plant in Chicago, management philosophy, foreign and domestic expansion, retirement in 1971; impressions of General Lucius Clay, Thomas Fogarty, other can executives.
