Ceramic and basketry artist.

Childhood in Strawberry Point, Iowa; early creative projects; undergraduate education at Coe College, Minneapolis School of Art and University of Iowa, 1944-49; teaching at Simpson College, 1949-50; experiences in summer program at Cranbrook, 1950; Masters degree in Art Education, University of Iowa, 1951; professor at Parsons College, 1952 and at Trinity College, Texas, 1953; study of ceramics at the McNay Art Institute and Ohio State University; teaching children at home; professor of Art Education, Capital University; struggle to fit in craftswork between job and family; basketry interest and study, 1972 to present; preference for natural fibers; entering competitions; pricing and sale of baskets.
