Biographical Note

Wood artist.

Scope and Contents

Childhood, Cleveland; early interest in art, propensity for carving; scholarship to Architecture School at Western Reserve University, Cleveland; national student awards for design; two year fellowship at Princeton Architecture School; teaching at Georgia Tech from 1941 to 1950, research in wood finishes; chief designer at large architectural firm for twenty years, left firm in 1972 to work completely on bowls; discussion of development of his art, selling art, atmosphere for art today.
