Childhood and colonial education in India and higher education at the University of Mysore in India, Ruskin College, and Oxford University in the United Kingdom. Description of the effects of World War II in India and Jain's participation in the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). Teaching at Delhi University, affiliation with the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), work with the Indian Council for Social Science Research.
