Projectionist, cameraman

Scope and Contents

Early experience in projection booth: equipment, fire hazards, manipulation of film speeds, intermission song and advertising slides, change to sound in the theaters; experiences as a cameraman, for both silent and sound films; comments on modifications in cameras, microphones, sound equipment; "Hell's Angels," "Goofy-Tune Newsreel." Audio is comprised of narrator's excerpts from the Westinghouse Broadcasting Company's radio program series "Memoirs of the Movies"
