Bell, 1945; language facility; moved to Mexico because of husband's assignment with Institute of Inter-American Affairs, 1949-1952; various experiences in Mexico; husband's work installing water supplies; move to Costa Rica, 1952-1954; contrast between two countries; membership in various women's groups
