Biographical Note

The interviews in the collection are part of a project that led to Ronald Fraser's book 1968: A Student Generation in Revolt, published by Chatto and Windus in 1988. The book documents student activism centered around 1968 in six countries: Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the United States, West Germany, France, and Italy. Fraser wrote the resulting monograph, but eight other oral historians contributed interviews as well, with different interviewers operating in different countries. Fraser did the interviewing for Great Britain and Northern Ireland
