Education at the Naval Academy, 1926-30; Guardia Nacional Nicaragua; sea duty aboard USS TUSCALOOSA, 1934-5; duty in China, 1937-40; 2nd Defense Battalion in Samoa; Commanding Officer, 3rd Raider Battalion Noumea, Guadalcanal, Bougainville, 1943; observations on raider battalion concept and employment; Okinawa campaign; occupation of Yokosuka and Tsingtao; postwar problems in Division of Plans and Policies, Headquarters, Marine Corps, 1946-48.
