Political scientist, government employee.

Scope and Contents

Graduate work in political science, University of Chicago, 1930-35; association with future Labor Department and Social Security Board members; legislative adviser, Unemployment Commission, 1936-62: development of disqualification and merit rating policies, farm labor and supplemental benefits, temporary extended benefits; professor, University of Michigan School of Social Work, 1962-74: lectures on unemployment compensation, research on problems of California's unemployed farm workers.
