Wise; college education at Bryn Mawr, Radcliffe and Barnard, A.B.1924; early jobs in labor and attempts to organize New Jersey textile industry; Yale Law School, LL.B.1928; referee, New York Dept. of Labor, on medical compensation cases; Assistant Corporation Counsel under Mayor LaGuardia, setting up model insurance system, 1934-35; judge, New York City Court of Domestic Relations: changes in court procedure, attempts to make treatment of children by voluntary agencies and courts more humane and equitable
