Engineer, Socialist politician.

Scope and Contents

Political development of Argentina during the 1920s and 1930s, alliance between Socialist and Democratic Progressive Parties, 1931; role of his father, Enrique Dickmann, as founder of Socialist Party; rise of Perón and influence of Socialist program, detailed discussion of meeting between Perón and Enrique Dickmann, 1952, reaction of Socialist Party and its expulsion of Dickmann; formation of new Socialist National Revolutionary Party, 1953; civil disorders, 1953-4; preparation for Perón's trip to Chile, 1953; relations of Perón government with Roman Catholic Church, divorce law; last vain attempt by Enrique Dickmann to influence Perón, July 1955.
