Scope and ContentsBrooklyn politics, 1930-50: Selected individuals recount their experiences in the Brooklyn political arena during these two decades. Journalists, lawyers and politicians describe the problems and achievements of the borough and its relationship to the mayor and the city and state administrations. The office of the district attorney receives special attention, centering on William O'Dwyer and his incumbency. Mayors James Walker and Fiorello La Guardia, John McCooey, Frank Kelly, John Cashmore, Rudolph Halley and other local leaders appear in these pages. Accounts of police procedure, politcal club practices, and court room incidents abound.
