Emigration from Italy to Argentina, 1924; very early union activity in pasta factories; Argentine labor history 1930s-50s: effects of worldwide depression, lay-offs, strikes, benefits, mechanization, change from foreign workers to Argentines after 1945, political influence of anarchists, socialists, communists in unions, federation of regional organizations; union relationships with Peron after 1944, role of General Labor Confederation in government; member, National Price and Wage Commission; labor expectations after 1946 elections; impressions of labor and government officials; 1947 strike of pasta workers; Congress for Production, 1954; plans to arm workers and Armed Forces' concern, 1955.
