Family tradition of work in textiles; early interest in art, early weaving and stained glass ventures; travels in the Navy; Philadelphia College of Textiles, study of fabrics, artistic possiblities of weaving; work at Cranbrook Academy of Art, teaching at University of Colorado; teaching in Program of Artisanry at Boston University; painting quality of fabrics and weaving; new ideas in textile design.
