Hamilton, Brooklyn, NY; participation in Vatican Council II, 1962-1965; professor, Academia Alphonsiana, Lateran University, 1959-1975; staff editor, Catholic Encyclopedia; various books and publications; interest in archaelogical search for St. Peter's remains; involvement in policies and politics of Catholic Church, population and birth control, Jesuit order and relation with Vatican, historical perspective and opportunities for change; discussion of Xavier Rynne.
