Background: life in Westchester, NY; career: accountant; 9/11: arrival at office three blocks from WTC, noise of first plane impact, witnessing North Tower fire, calling wife, turning on television in office, announcement to evacuate building, noise of second plane impact, witnessing South Tower fire, walk to client's office five blocks from WTC to warn co-workers to remain home; collapse of North Tower, run down Broadway toward the Staten Island Ferry, stay overnight on Staten Island; post-9/11: new business location, disputes with insurance company; concern for safety of children; ideas about WTC memorial, changed atmosphere in post-9/11 downtown, need for more careful control of immigrants.
