Born Bronx, NY; education: Cathedral College, St. Joseph's Seminary; career: St. Elizabeth's Hospital at Washington Heights, work with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York since 1983, executive director of Catholic Charities; discussion of Washington Heights neighborhood; 9/11: radio coverage, discussion of President George W. Bush's announcement of event as terrorist attack; post-9/11: work with St. Vincent's Hospital and Family Assistance Center, counseling and economic assistance, work with Chinese Staff and Workers Association, formation of 9/11 United Services Group, discussion of psychological treatment, special needs of immigrants and undocumented workers.
