Career: Deputy Director for the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Control Program at the Center for Disease Control; 9/11: hearing cracking sound, witnessing explosion, evacuation uptown; post 9/11: scarcity of people downtown, eeriness of downtown, crossing police checkpoints, recovery of STD clinics, staff shortages, change in priorities and hiring; bioterrorism: involvement in NBC [NBS Universal Inc.] anthrax incident, training for bioterrorism, TRIPOD [Operation Trail Point of Dispensing] emergency response, medication stockpiles, emotional impact on family.
